GAME FILE 10 / Pick & reveal
Market Mischief
A little lunch. An increasingly attentive waiter.
Explore a Cape Town food market with Pierre. Reveal a safe stall, collect the offer, or risk another sample before the waiter catches up.
Free practice · Illustrative rounds · No wallet or prizes
PUBLIC PRACTICETHE SETUP
Nine stalls. One very loose alibi.
Pierre describes the market as a tasting tour. The waiter describes it as evidence. Choose one, two or three patrols, then explore a saved nine-stall board. After any safe reveal, take the offer or risk it on another stall.
YOUR FIRST ROUND
Three steps.
Then you’re in.
Choose the patrol.
Select one, two or three patrols and a stake from 1–50 illustrative points before starting. No wallet is charged. The patrol count stays fixed for that round.
Try a stall.
Reveal one of the nine stalls. A food stall grows the offer; a waiter patrol ends the round at zero. Unopened stalls give no clues.
Know when to leave.
After a safe reveal, collect the displayed total or continue and risk it. Finding every safe stall collects automatically.
INSIDE THE GAME
The details
make the mischief.
One board for the entire visit.
The server fixes the board at the start. There is no hidden redraw between reveals or difficulty change during a round.
The offer is on the table.
Read the chance of the next reveal and the current total before deciding. Gross return includes the illustrative stake; the receipt also shows the net result.
A cover story that stays consistent.
Pierre and the waiter react to accepted reveals and collection. Returning to the round restores the same board and exchange. Unopened stalls remain hidden after it ends.
THE MISSING BRAAI PLATTER
The platter has entered the market.
A Cape Town stallholder remembers a blue platter and a customer who ordered everything “on behalf of the committee”. Pierre has prepared a receipt. The waiter has prepared a follow-up question.
An independent game. Start here whenever you like. Story discoveries stay separate from its results.BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Good to know.
Clear rules leave more room for questionable characters.
Can I change the patrol count after starting?
No. The number of patrols and the board are fixed before the first reveal. Choose a different count only for a new round.
Do the stall names or character poses reveal a patrol?
No. Every unopened stall has the same remaining chance. Scenery, food illustrations and reactions cannot identify the hidden board.
Can I collect after one safe reveal?
Yes. After any safe reveal you can collect the current offer. Continuing risks the whole offer; a patrol ends the round at zero.
Is this a real-money market or a points programme?
Neither. These are illustrative practice rounds with no wallet or prizes. Operator money and optional funded programmes remain separate integration models.
Do I need to play another game first?
No. Every game stands on its own. You can explore the connected South African story and badge collection whenever you like; neither is required to play.
YOU KNOW THE PLAN.
Time to cause a little trouble.
